Engine & Model Evolution

The Hyosung 125cc dual-sport lineup saw significant mechanical changes during its production run. Most early RT125 and RX125 models (approx. 2001–2005) featured the reliable SOHC (Single Overhead Cam) 4-valve air/oil-cooled engine. Post-2007, the range shifted toward the more powerful DOHC (Double Overhead Cam) configuration, common in the RX125SM and later XRX models.

• Engine: 124.5cc Single Cylinder, 4-Valve (SOHC or DOHC)
• Cooling: Air/Oil-cooled system with external oil cooler
• Transmission: 5-Speed constant mesh
