G’day gang,
First time poster, long time stalker.
Got a strange noise on my gv650 classic.
History on the bike, first owner purchased brand new then failed his learners twice and then put it in the shed with 650km on the clock.
Ten years later I purchased it from him, had Ti change the fuel pump and all filters and oils to get running again.
I have taken it out a couple of times with no problems at all but have noticed that noise in the video.. anyone have any ideas? Have ordered new thrush bearing and washer.

Almost certainly thrust bearing or could be a bust spring

Have you thought about taking out the entire clutch assembly out (plates and discs) to check for cracks , distortions/warping , heat glazed springs that have weakened (eg. OEM says example 50mm free standing spring, the old spring now says 30mm free standing, so it is something to think about ?
Also take out the “push rod” that’s in the middle of the clutch basket (it just slides out) and check its not bent or warped ?

I have ordered new washers and the spacer that goes onto the outer clutch hub, waiting for it to arrive.
When it does all pull the whole lot out and check to make sure everything is within spec, i am hoping its an easy fix 🙂Funny you talk about the plates, seeing its only got 600km on the clock i assume it would be fine, but ill make sure to check them also.
