Would like to see if I could grab or salvage locally any suggested Reg/rec & stator replacements but I’m not sure what I’m looking for that compatible, many thanks

I guess I’m looking for the specs of the reg/rec for compatibility with others?

shindengen sh775 real one not a knock off expensive but will out last the bike you need to alter the wiring connections but they are simple enough

Yeah we do those for EFi models (with our mini harness) , otherwise for a carby motorĀ Poland or JMP regulators we use ain’t too bad for plug & play
Carby stators are for carby motors anyway , if you can salvage one locally , why not just make sure its in spec using manuals in the forum (EFI manual has same stator readings as the carby one) , just means don’t use EFI on carby motors that’s all but readings are the same.

I can’t find any specs regarding reg/recs for Old carby 250r models in any of the manuals listed in the forums, (from here specifically: https://hyoriders.club/forums/topic-tag/service-manuals/)
So at the moment I’m trying to find out 2 things:
1) How to tell what spec or the oem reg/rec is for my model as I believe it varies from CC to carby vs efi, so I can wrap my head around what I’m working with and work from ground zero I guess?
2) Compatible reg/recs for my model, like for instance if I could salvage a 08 kawasaki 250r reg/rec and replace it with mine (if thats even possible) since from what I’ve heard a jap made reg/rec would be better than the oem hyosungs have.If you don’t mind answering what do you mean by Poland or JMP regs? are they brands with reg/recs that are compatible with hyosung bikes? or are you suggesting reputable ones?
Correct me if I’m wrong but from my small understandings on reg/recs if they’re within the same CC range, same carby model and have the same pin/plugs, they are more or less interchangeable? And then by the off chance the pins aren’t you could(maybe not advisable but could) change the wiring to suit?

Like is the rec/reg parts number that only works for my bike and, say for example the oem(?) part number is 32800HN9110, do I search only for that part number but in an aftermarket equivalent that is of higher quality and reliability?

And for example could I interchange my HYOSUNGS carby gt250r’s OEM rec/reg & stator with a KAWASAKI carby 250r’s OEM rec/reg & stator if the plug/pins are compatible?
Apologies for the many questions, very fresh into self-care/maintenance on a moto -

Some regulators have reverse + and – pins and could fry the bike.
The most “Bolt in” option,Ā find an old Kawasaki MULE ATV in your soil, it works straight in.The brands we mentioned ieĀ PolandĀ (WK Moto) and JMP (Japan/Germany) , YS (YellowSquareMoto UK) have been good for our store
All replacement regulators using Hyosung part numbers are all rubbish! I would have more faith in Korea’s regulator than china aftermarket clones even though it’s not wise Korea’s regulators now (still an outsourced part but made in korean soil)
13.5-15VĀ = idling and 5,000 revs
If less than 13.5 = regulator or stator issues
If over 15V , do not ride = explosion or fire hazard imminent. That’s for the regulator
Kawasaki Mule has a LOT of clones , no new ones are made , so find one that is still good and OEM.

Yeah my battery reads
12.2v off
11.8v on, engine off
12.2v idle
13.0v >3000rpm
So a lot of research has lead me to believe the likely culprit is the reg/rec, with the offchance it might be the battery/stator too. Just trying to understand how parts are read/made now, so the reg part number represents an exclusive bike manufactured part? For example the “reg/rec upgrades” hyorider’s site sells is another more reliable bikes brand part(honda, kawa, yamaha etc.) made compatible for hyosungs sorta thing?
If that is the case has it been calibrated for a hyosung or were they compatible specs from the get go?

The shop regs uses better tech inside as Hyosung OEM versions use primitive techĀ (old diode , badly made shunt types) ,Ā the idea of those ones is that the owner literally just swaps & go.Ā No chopping up anything, we discourage messing with the harness too much, it’s a lot of wires & ancillaries attached to it, so the spinal cordĀ (so to speak) of the bike isn’t to be messed with.
The Shingden’s we do for 250 EFi onesĀ are true MOSFET type, it is a requirement as EFi has a LOT ( i mean A LOT of sensors all over the bike) so it is way more thirsty than the carby bike.Ā Ā HenceĀ the carby ones you see , are more than OK for a carby motorĀ , explicitly say “carby” for a reason.
For 650cc , it’s not even a discussion, Shingden for both carby and EFi.Ā Ā if things go bad on an aliexpress reg , it will be voilent if the owner isn’t already on fire.Ā Some just literally “bang” , and connectors get melted like someone put a cigar lighter on them, I have seen it all.
Carby Stator =Ā Ā OEM Black Korea is the best one for carby but not made anymore šĀ Ā , however the aftermarket variant is more than OKĀ (just as long as owner’s don’t take the piss like adding 100w bulbs instead of 55w!Ā or putting gazilion accessories taxing the charging system even more)
