Hey guys. Can i use new version EFI CYLINDERS on an old Carby Model GT250R bike??
The new cylinders have BIGGER Cam Chain Tensioners. I can buy those.
BUt there seems to be some hole on the outside of the NEW CYLINDERS that my old ones don’t have.
Waht are those holes? Can i close them off or seal them up?
Basically can i use the new cylinders on the old carby model bike?

Yes,
EFi cylinders have extra holes for E-AIS (electric air intake valve thing for fake emissions) and ET sensors (Engine Temp Sensors.)But yes you can use any 250 cylinders and plug up the EFi holes. Tensioners depend on cylinder of course.

Sweet, thank you. Yeah i went to a wrecker to have a look at the EFI Cylinders. The 3 x holes i don’t have on my Cylinders are for exhaust gasses (sensor). Apparaently i can just plug those holes up & use the EFI cylinders on a carby model bike. I need to buy 2x newer Cam Chain Tensioners & Gaskets to make it work.

Yup, EFi will be fine on carby. Just plug the extra unneeded holes 🙂
