Cant fit the air box on top of the carb – GV250 Carby

I pulled out everything on top of the bike to get to the carbureator but now i cannot put the air box on top of the carbureator again, everyone around me talls me to ditch the bix and get a direct filter fitted on top  but there has to be a way right
