Hi all I have just bought a brand new Hyosung 125 Aquila 2021, I’m scared that I may have spent £3599.00 on a piece of shit, with all the bad reviews that I read, I’m not looking forward to receiving this bike, even though it looks great, I should have known better than to buy from south karea

I like to describe my relationship with my Hyosung similar to Marmite.
Its a love-hate kinda thing.
Look, you can buy a Honda 125 and it will work. It will run. It will switch on everyday. Its reliable, but its boring.
My GV125 2016 model, sometimes the battery is dead, sometimes the carbs are clogged, the chain is loose, the speedo wont switch on, the LCD screen is glitching, the indicators are staying on and it guzzles fuel like a V8 ford.
But I love my Hyosung. It has character. It has a personality. It has a mind of its own, with its sticky throttle and slow braking time.
Its big, its bulky, people think its a large bike, its rare here in the UK, everyone loves it. They look great, sound great and if you look after it, they are reliable. If you need parts, have no fear. We’re all here to look out for each other, so have fun on your Hyosung, look after it and it’ll look after you too.
Ride on

Hi David, I have seen quite a few reviews on the model you’ve bought and to be fair they all say that its a good, honest bike for the money. Yours is fuel injected so no carb issues etc. I bought my GT125R new two and a half years ago and love it. A bit of tlc and a fair bit of ACF50 have kept her in as new condition and running sweet as a nut. If I had the choice I would buy the same again. Lets hope your fears are unfounded and you get years of pleasure from yours.

I have read good things about the new GV and people seem to love the bobber looks. I agree with dufferdave, look after it and it will give you what you want. Smaller cc bikes are often bought and not given care, services skipped, left in the rain, heavily modified and then ragged. Then the owner moans about how it keeps letting them down.
You are used to good machines that means you must know what to do to keep them running. It is the owner that makes the difference.
Hyosung have a good name overall and a good resale price, I think you bought wisely.
