I have a 2016 AQUILLA GV250 EFI and my brake light will illuminate but when I press the brakes it won’t go to a higher illumination showing that I’m applying my brakes. I thought it was the bulb so I replaced it with an LED 1157R and there is a very very small change to the illumination when applying the brakes when I have the cover off but when I put the cover back on, you can’t notice the very very small change. I’ve tried pushing both brakes and it does the same thing. Any help would be appreciated.

Check voltage on the line that’s illuminating the other side of the bulb (since its dual filament) also check voltage at the switches.
Also turn the headlights off (remove headlight bulbs) , see if that helps.

Note to everyone wanting to make their GV250 LED…..you can’t. Ended up going to buy a new halogen bulb and it works perfect. Thanks for the help Marcel!

Ok ill go get a new bulb, check the voltage of the line and switch, and I’ll unplug the head light bulb. If it’s the line or the switch, would I just have to replace which ever one is messed up or would that be a battery issue?

Glad you fixed it!
Halogen is still good, tried & tested for decades. LED is nice but not everything needs to be LED.

Well I fixed that problem, but my luck is awful and the brake light bulb socket broke on the way to get the motorcycle inspected. I think maybe the thousand bumps on the way to the shop was to blame. I ended up ordering a whole new tail light assembly because I couldn’t find just the socket so should have it fixed by this weekend.
