My gv125 started “hiccuping” and seems to stall pretty easily when releasing the clutch in first gear. It wasn’t like this when I just got the bike. It is winter now, does that play role? Please see the video attached. Any advice is appreciated! Thanksss

Maybe a dirty injector? Water in the fuel?

Did any mods happen to it ?
Has it ever been apart for mechanics to access the valves ? (Clearances job)
How old is she and when was the last time the air filter was replaced?
Do you use E5 or E10 ? which Station?
Can you see what “spark plugs” it is using and how old ? (eg. NGK CZ4-S , 9,000 miles old plugs)
When it is running , can you see any “sparks” coming out of the HT Caps or Coils themselves (this is very important) – As it may mean you will need to replace the caps but , let’s answer everything here first before i draw conclusions
Try to answer each question above , so i can drill down to a possible fix for you
Also Jim is right to ask those questions too ^ – Wet, rainy season, you want to check for foreign weather invasions , road debris invading intakes or leaks to the bike, tank cap is not fully secure (water or debris eventually clogs the pump and injectors) as per Jim’s questions ^
I asked a lot , so take your time! – She is still alive, its a good thing, i wouldn’t try her out far places or anything she sounds a bit moody
I’ve reuploaded the video to youtube (no one can find it there) , so its just visible for this forum – it’s just incase Android users can’t see it for whatever reason lol.
I’ll program a way to “auto play” Apple files uploaded directly to this site , it was a challenge making this site work for Safari computers already haha, but i digress. if it was MP4 it would auto convert and play to anyone.
Good luck fella & report back!

Hi Marcel! Thanks for the response.
1. No mods have been done
2. Only thing that’s been done at mechanics is changing oil and topping up coolant as well as the recommended services according to mileage. At the moment, second service done.
3. The bike is 2022, and I bought it second handed in May, 2023! Air filters have not been replaced.
4. I use E5, unleaded usually from shell or esso.
5. Will have to get back to you on the spark plugs..
6. I haven’t seen any sparks, but I can check again!
7. In terms of invasion, it is indeed quite rainy and windy now and I don’t have indoor parking, although I always use a cover. However, 2 weeks ago the bike did tip over due to winds, but I didn’t see any external damage except for a significant dent on the gas tank, as you will see in the video! After that incident, the “hiccups” did seem to be a bit more noticeable, so it could play a role.
thanks for re-uploading the video, and good job with the web app😆😆💪🏼

Here is a link to a longer version of the video, so both Android and iOS users can fully appreciate the spluttering😅

It tipped. Do you guys have charcoal canisters on the fuel/ vent system? If those get flooded it can cause that, but maybe you don’t even have that in Europe.

Got the extended clip 🙂 , i will await your report on the plugs and any pictures – You may also check your coils again as you said.
Let us know if the situation improved (don’t go far, just warm up, go down the street and return back, let it idle for 5 mins before turning off)
Regards

Hi all,
Thanks for all the insights. I saw on another thread that Wynn’s Formula Gold petrol fluid helps with the revs being unstable. I tried it and it worked very well!! Currently minimal misfires but still does sometimes.
Able to enjoy riding again until I get it properly serviced👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Any ideas why the fluid worked is also helpful😅
Cheers!

Because the Dutch finally visited a witch coven and invited them to their labour to make a “wicked” potion to make our 2 wheeled kittys purr more!
Believe me, that juice is worth the squeeze!
I haven’t tried anything else better since then. I hope Wynns stays in business as i use them on customer bikes lol

Update:
Got the bike serviced, got a new oil filter and replaced spark plugs and she’s running as good as new.
I’m guessing the spark plugs were just worn out/dirty? I did ride the bike between London and Brighton, both ways in the same day, meaning I was on full throttle for a while😄 I read that may not be too good for the bike. It was the day the issue started to become more prominent.
Will keep observing👀

That is great news , yes wanning plugs can cut the bike off at times. As long as its CR8E or Laser Type it will be OK. Just dont use IX Blue Box plugs as Hyosungs don’t like em.
