Disaster has struck. The very thing you do not want to fail failed. My intake manifolds.

Bike lost its top end, then on limping home stopped idling and needed a pick up (thank my mate with a van – no recovery costs).
Upon further investigation I found the failed manifolds.
She is running again thanks to this superglue, worked a treat and manifolds are air tight and flexible. Marcel’s advise was try and save them and replacements will be expensive.
Now the hunt begins for replacements – cheapest good quality are £300 for pair. Ouch, Marcel was right about cost!!!!

Yikes! – Before i could say anything more , how is it all going so far then ?
Expensive to replace but won’t stop me getting them if i was asked to , even if i have to scour the earth for some!
Much rarer than GT manifolds, it is wise for GV owners to do their best to treat the manifolds well.

They are working for now. I am on the hunt for a set of originals but I do have a plan. Keep you all posted if it comes to anything (not what I mentioned to you Marcel 😀 ).
The manifolds are just a shaped tube with a standard manifold connections on each end and vacuum conns in the tube. There will be a way round this that does not involve paying £300 to a person for a used set. They should be £35 for one £70 for the pair. I take it as a challenge to find a way round this issue. Off out to take some measurements and order the parts I need. I am ok at fixing and fabricating repairs of many things as I was an electrical engineer who salvaged and repaired when younger – there is nearly always another way!
