Does anyone know anything about what I believe to be an electrical problem on my gt125r i have fully charged the battery and took it out then an hour later when ive tried taking it out again its flat reading 11.6v when it was just on 12.6 any help would be appreciated 👍 also the battery is a couple of months old so i didn’t think it would be that

Rectifier/stator is almost certainly at fault

Have you ever tested your Stator unit too ?
+1 On simon = We don’t really recommend keeping OEM or China regulators on carby 125 bikes in fairness, its common to just upgrade properly and be done.
Also, remember what i said above ^ in regards to the stator = If the last keeper didn’t mention it if you bought the bike , it could be time to overhaul the charging system. including the stator unit itself
But as before how handy are you testing stators ? (Wise thing to do before adding a new reg incase its the stator that was also eating up the reg or vice versa = married pair)

We discussed this a few times on this forum in other threads. But search “stator” on this site and read topics that mention it as im sure Simon has mentioned how to test it or even myself. Its easy. If you get stuck let us know

Have you considered….,
- Clutch Plates ? OK at lower revs but what if 1 plate is cracked and bike is jerky at acceleration or high speeds or the plates and spring have worn down.
- Stator Unit. I hope not but if its funny, the rest of the bike acts haywire. its part of ignition (not just charging) = multi purpose unit.
- Carb Clean?
- Leaking O-Rings under the intake manifolds
- Loose airbox? (it is very sensetive to that if it is not sitting down tight and properly)
- Air filter (is flowing less air thru as it gets old up)
- Someone in the past put wrong jets, messed around with mixtures in the carb, floats, float seats (they control how much fuel comes at high revs too)
- Someone also probably messed with the slide needles making it lean than OEM or little richer ? (needle = the needles attached to the black carb diphragms)
- Weird as it sounds = Lubricate the gear linkage parts so it shifts easier , and check chain isn’t slacking too much and isn’t too tight when you sit on her
- oil change ? Motul 7100 is great on these hot 125 twins, oh yes they do get hot! n (250 cooler would be like a good present for her tbh before summer hits)
I hope this info helps ?
