Hello Hyoriders,
Hope you are all well!
A while ago my GV 250 EFi was spilling fuel through the fuel pressure regulator. Took it to a guy that couldn’t find the original regulator from the dealer here in Portugal and so he adapted a different one.
Turns out the engine has fuel in excess and indeed I cannot see a return line exiting the regulator now we’ve taken out the fuel tank to service the bike.
The problem now is that he threw away not only the original regulator as well as the parts that kept it attached to the bike and allowed us to connect it to the three fuel lines.
I just purchased a new regulator but there’s no way we can install it…
What can I do? Are the missing parts for sale? Should I return the original one and buy an universal three bar regulator?
Attached you’ll find:
Picture 1 – from the service manual, where you can see how it originally was
Picture 2 – what the guy threw away. Again, you can the metal and rubber small parts that allow us to attach the regulator to the bike and the fuel lines to the regulator.
Picture 3 – the bike as it is now. I can only see two fuel lines, no return line…
Picture 4 – the fuel regulator I just purchased.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Adriano Ferraz

Is it possible at all , to fit something like this below inside your tank ?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/257415344253
if we can put the whole pump and its embedded pressure part as one piece, then your tank just takes 1 pipe going to the throttle bodies ?
Unless you have a carby makeshift tank ?
Your tank should look like this for a Daewoo/Sentec model

Hi M77,
Thank you for your swift response.
The bike is not here with me (it’s with a much more experienced friend of mine who is looking into this) but I know the fuel pump is a separate part (photo attached) because we replaced it about a year ago thinking that was the issue..
Bear in mind this is a 2009 model, the very early ones to have fuel injection.
If I cannot connect the original fuel pressure regulator, perhaps I can install an aftermartket one that works. Any suggestions?
Thanks once again,

If you can get a 3.5 bar regulator , then test it to make sure your engine isn’t flooded or the fuel pump is over working itself, then why not.
I only suggested the ebay links as here in UK, all GV EFi including 2008 have new tanks from 2008-2017 the same , they use internal pumps with built in regulators , i have never seen an EFi that used external pumps , so it is surprising to me.
