Hello all!
I recently purchased a 2008 GT125R that has been somewhat converted into a naked (fairings off) as a bit of a project. It had a few issues (air intake leaks and such) but i have got it running and it’s about 90% there. The main issue i have now is a previous owner has installed an aftermarket ignition and headlight and has (for lack of a better word) butchered the wiring loom at the front off the bike that powers the dashboard and headlight etc.
I have done some investigating and tracked some of the wiring back to the source and labelled it for the lights but the dash board itself is dead. The tach section works but the LCD seems to have no power.
I have purchased an aftermarket digital dash that i am hoping i can wire up to replace my current dead Hyo one but i can’t find any info on what wire colours control what.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram or simple wire colour guide for the dashboard that i can use to figure out what goes where?
Thanks in advance!

I don’t have one at hand , but take pictures of your current dashboard loom, and see if you spread them, i will tell you what each wire colour dash.
Becareful , some universal dashes don’t work with Hyo Speed Sensors (mph counter) unless the aftermarket dash has its own wiring first , and its own speed sensor (sometimes its magnets supplied)
Then take pictures again, we have to try “not” to cut the hyosung wiring
I will advise how best to make your own separate “mini” loom for the aftermarket dash that will join the main hyosung loom , sort of like “plug & play” style

Hi Marcel,
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately the original loom is in a sorry state (see pictures).
The aftermarket dash i have should support the speedo sensor as it comes with it’s own magnet drive.
I have already purchased a loom today (from you actually!) that i am going to pair to another dashboard loom i bought which is untouched to hopefully make a working circuit.
I do have another thing i need to work out which is how the ignition is supposed to be wired? At some point the ignition barrel seems to have been changed for a cheap aftermarket one and the this one has 4 wires (see pictures).
Thanks.

Looks like you got a weird lockset , generally orange and red at the harness side is going torwards the ignition barrel, some cases there is indeed a black wire with a white strip (ground or negative) , and extra red wire if the harness needs it.
Can you call “Startright Motorcycles” tomorrow, they have a dashboard in stock and even the LCD glass , i hope it’s not sold by them – Tell them Marcel sent you. And clearly specifiy it is for a 2007 era bike that uses a “Matrix Black Glass” LCD with green text.
Your spare harness was sent off today via Yodel, so check your email as P2G will email you themselves for a tracker code to follow it. Maybe you can save both harnesses and 1 is working , done up well and the other is also a fixed up working backup.
Mannol Harness Tape is ace for wrapping harnesses (we use it all the time)
