So i decided as a project to repair a GT125R 2007. A local lad was selling one that he had come off and highsided. Damage to the fairings and dent in the tank. So far

PCB board burn out, Bike started then stopped working due to corroded ignition wire….Replaced the wire bike tried to start put tank etc back on nothing from switch. After many facebook chats i have discovered there is no clutch lever switch, Solenoid playing up. Fairing have been replaced along with the tank i am not giving up on this bike wish me luck

I wish you the utmost lock and anything you need , we got you 🙂

And please do keep sharing the pictures because i actually love seeing those bikes get a 2nd chance on the road.   They are wonderful to ride , i could be biased but coming from a Kawasaki and GS , the hyosungs are nice chunkies in their own right.

I went to shops with my GV and i couldn’t believe how narrow the Suzuki GS500 looked compared to my GV lol.  I’ve forgotten , that’s how much i’ve got used to hyosungs as my main toys but i supposed i should give other branded bikes i have some loving this summer!

      You got this fella!

      Hi thanks a lot,

spent the evening fixing the wiring loom. Discovered they bypassed the clutch switch the bullets were seriously corroded have ordered a new switch from yourself. Solenoid on way along with new display this bike will be back in the road running just needs some love. I do like the bike and will be using it as a run around despite having my full licence couldn’t resist this when saw it.

      Update time..

      ITS ALIVE!!!!!!

So after a lot of help on the Facebook group here is an update.

upgraded vacuum lines bought from here, changed the fuel filter and all fuel lines for new. Installed a clutch switch. Cleaned the carbs only issue both choke plungers work however the bar does not slide operating the other as it appears to be seized in place. Managed to get the bike to start but was idling ridiculously high. Opted to install the carbs to the airbox then install to the manifolds. This made a huge difference. Bike now idles at 3k rpm. if i slight touch the throttle assembly at the carb it reduces ad stays there. Opened up the cable housing and the grip is all broken except one hole. I think this may be the culprit and will replace and replace the grip. Had to put a splash if fuel into the carbs to get her to fire unfortunately the battery would die before would fire. Halford wants £72.99 for the battery cheaper and same model on ebay for half the price..

Also deleted the EGR thanks to the tutorial on here. Then another problem reared its ugly head…the petcock was leaking. This will be replaced but for now JB weld saved the day with a temp fix. So left to do is as follows repaint all fairings i have a theme in mind all will be revealed when completed. Purchase a left side fairing bracket as the other is all twisted. Replace the petcock, then oil filter change just for peace of mind. Noticed today exhaust bracket is held on with cable tie. Wanted to upgrade exhaust anyway now i have an excuse. Then i need to adjust the drive chain as loose. Also finally got the dash sorted mine had burnt out. Ordered one on eBay which was a nightmare no tracking 10 days later not arrived and no refund in site. Had to get eBay to sort. Then miraculously a post on Facebook £30 later new dash which works.

I did take it for a ride to the end of the road forgot how heavy the bike is to push out my gate lol

Hey, it’s a big girl lol.

I am very happy you got that far now , so i guess this time its just a matter of replacing old fishy things for new stuff , don’t throw away the dash though , we might take it if its unwanted, i might experiment with it!

For future reference , we can repair cables and actually refurbish them properly and when you get it back it will be silky smooth and like new ish ,  sometimes choke or throttle cables do get sticky , it happens to any motorcycle really.   Lube up the cables well.

Speaking of weight , be a good chance to check all bearings are good on wheels including the sprocket drum (especially the sprocket drum)

      Happy days though, well done!

thanks. Yep all fishy things now so brakes, bulbs, repaint. Will be upgrading sprockets with your ones end of month then all the advisory’s from the last owners MOT. Good to know about the cables and yes dash is unwanted. As frustrating as the journey is I’m really enjoying working on this bike. I’ve never had to do such work on a bike before so great learning experience
