Description

Finally, a styling upgrade tailored specifically for GT Naked v-twin twins! Original factory gear linkages are often highly prone to heavy corrosion, scaling, and look completely dated after years of road exposure. Our premium aftermarket anodized gear shift rods provide far more than just visual flair. They are precision CNC machined from high-strength billet aluminum to be significantly lighter and more resilient than the heavy factory steel units. This slow maintenance reality means your foot controls are saved from the pitting and rust common on standard machinery, resulting in a cleaner look and a much more durable foot gear interface during your ongoing restoration project.

The gear shift linkage rod is a highly critical touchpoint between your left foot lever and the internal transmission selector drum. By upgrading your linkage system to an uprated aluminum arm, you trim down the weight of your pivot assemblies and provide a hard-wearing surface that effortlessly shrugs off harsh weather. These parts are supplied in a fast drop-in layout, designed to work perfectly alongside your existing footpeg brackets and original foot levers without needing complex modifications.

🎨 Available Color Runs

We currently hold stock of the following limited color runs ready for immediate dispatch:

  • ⚫ Stealth Black // Low-profile look for a sleeper look.
  • 🟡 Race Gold // Bright anodised finish that stands out.
  • ⚪Bright Silver // Clean metallic appearance.

⏰ RED COLOR DELAY: Red anodised bars are available to select but they take 2 weeks for delivery because it is usually a special order and a difficult colour to get.

💡 RECOMMENDED HARDWARE PAIRING: Sloppy shifting is often caused by old worn foot control bolts and sticky pivot bushings. While you have your linkage unbolted on the workbench, inspect your main peg mounts closely. Complete your foot controls refresh task by paring this custom arm with our Stainless Steel Engine Bolt Kits to tidy your frame accents beautifully.

🔧 Install Tips

  • Measure Your Original Dimensions: Before you screw the new parts into your rod ends, lay the uprated aluminum bar flat next to your current steel rod. While this component is a direct fit for standard setups, custom adjustable foot pegs may require minor adjustments.
  • Secure Your Lock Nuts Firmly: Always turn the threaded locking nuts firmly down until they lock tight against the hex faces of the aluminum bar. Engine single-cylinder vibrations will rapidly shake loose any loose links over time.
  • Watch Your Linkage Alignment: If you find your foot lever feels stiff or heavy to click after tightening everything home, verify that the rod runs in a perfectly straight line between the engine arm and your foot lever. Angular binding is the main cause of sticky gear box feedback.
  • Wipe Clean to Keep the Shine: Periodically wipe down the metallic surface with a clean cloth to remove chain fling or road grease. Avoid spraying harsh acid-based wheel cleaning chemicals directly onto the aluminum to safeguard the anodised skin layer.
📧 NOT SURE HOW TO FREELY ADJUST THE REVERSE THREAD END NUTS? If your gear selection feels loose or you aren’t sure how to match your lever angle to your riding boots, you can upload a crisp photo of your left-side foot controls on the forum to get instant advice.
