Doubtful that it would just be the gap, it is almost 99.9% going to be a bad connection or a failed electrical component

With fuel injection if the voltage gets low the ECU will try to keep the main things running as long as it can which is why it will start to mess about, the fact the bike ran fine for a bit sounded like the battery was discharging so to me the first thing to check. Now it’s going to be a bit of detective work, it could be something as simple as a…[Read more]

Yes you can check the resistance of the coil & the plug caps with a multimeter, it did think at one time the ics was faulty but it was not the case, also check the pipes from the ics for leaks, can’t remember of the top of my head what the readings of the coils & plug caps should be but Marcel will probably know

Knowing that particular model very well your issues sound electrical to me, there are a sets of connectors under the tank on the left hand side fixed to the frame unplug & clean them they are particularly bad for grime, the idle circuit runs through one of them, also check those plug caps very prone to failure

Simon replied to the topic Valve clearances – GT125R in the forum π§ Hyosung Technical Help 1 month ago
The intakes should be between 0.1mm-0.2mm exhaust 0.2mm-0.3mm when cold. To tigh clearance will open the valves to soon & also as it warms up likely to keep the valve slightly open.

When rebuilding the cylinder the valves need to be done it’s the most common place for blow by, normally worn rings/bores show with oil burning

Simon replied to the topic Most common cause for compression loss on a gt125r? in the forum π§ Hyosung Technical Help 1 month ago
As with most engines it will be valves not adjusted right or not seating correctly, piston rings broken, stuck, head gasket leaking on worn bores the only way really is to strip down the top end of the engine.

Simon replied to the topic 125 carb to efi conversion – GT125 in the forum π§ Hyosung Technical Help 3 months ago
No it won’t work, the amount of work involved to make it efi is simply not worth the effort. Just go and buy a fuel injected bike it will be cheaper, stick with carbs far better for tuning & one hell of a lot less hassle.

It’s most likely going to be a connection check & clean the connectors from behind the dash & also the connectors on the front coil as that’s where the signal comes from
