Advice on these plug pics please. It looks as if the rear is lean and the front is rich to me.

Hi Marcel. I said choke not chock!! The rpm stalls at about 4000. Unfortunately, I live in the country and the roads are appalling! I couldn’t do much and there aren’t any strait bits, so I didn’t notice speed, but in 3rd it just stopped accelerating at about 4000. I can’t go out on main roads as I don’t have an ITV (MOT) yet.

It didn’t start at first, with or without choke, but one squirt of EastStart again it was off! It started and ran with no choke 2nd time. I followed your advice to the letter, and after a while, spraying easy start (managed to find some in my local car spares place) in continuously, the front cyl caught but stopped (I had full choke). Thanks Marcel, I will try all this. However, I really just want to get the damn bike going. CAN you get me a front carb body, or even a twin carb set-up, and I would post you mine. The cost is not material now as I have already spent a lot of money, so I will pay whatever is necessary. Please ring me if you can.

Hi Alan, the starting jet is not removable, unfortunately. It’s the long brass bit that sticks up from body (see pics above). I wonder what would happen if I chopped it in half, got the needle out, and epoxy glued it back together!!!

Oh dear! Marcel, I am despondent! I am back to running on rear cylinder only. I felt sure the bike would run, even with the front carb starting jet blocked with a broken off needle tip (!!), but it seems it won’t. I have a spark, but only running rear pot. Tried that and got bubbles out top, but decided to look closely at caliper. One piston very difficult to get out and badly pitted, so I’ve decided to get new master, caliper and pipe-line! The new front brake master cylinder piston arrive very quickly (interestingly, from Madrid!), but I still can’t get fluid to flow down to caliper.
