      GT125

      Hello Hyo riders, i’m new to the forum and i have an Hyosung GT125 for the past year.
      I must say english is not my main language, so expect some gramatical misspells.

      I have a very detailed problem that followed the bike since day one, and because of that i could gather some info regarding said problem in hopes someone can help me out.

      My bike visited 3 bike shops at this time, i spent a considerable amount of money paying people to fix a problem nobody can identify, including an official Hyosung seller in my country. It’s honestly driving me insane, because i searched for the problem online multiple times, including on this forum, and today i finally registered because i’m on my last breath considering this bike and the brand as a whole. I still have me hands dirty, because i was just working on it a few moments ago.

      Sorry for the long post, but here goes the information:

      -The bike is in a very good shape, not a single drop of rust, it’s from 2016, everything looks new, low mileage;
      -Some days it starts, some days i have to push it;
      -I try every trick, key is on, neutral is on, killswitch off, clutch on, kickstand off the ground, starter pushed, bike keeps trying to start, nothing happens for a hole minute (if i try to drain it), i stop, try again a day later, bike starts in two seconds;
      -Choke does nothing, most of the times just turns the bike off or make the starting process impossible;
      -BONUS TIP, when i’m finally running on the street, bike turns off out of the blue until i stop and try for “hours” to start it again, but i recently discovered that switching the lights from low beams to position lights, or simply turning off the lights completely, immediately turns the bike on again with the momentum of the engine, and i just loose some speed, preventing me from a total stop. Must be an electrical problem, some component, but i’m not a mechanic and no mechanic knows what is going on.

      I lost my hope and i hate the bike every day. It’s the truth, unfortunatly.
      I hope you guys are doing great and enjoying your rides, motorcycles are a real dream, weather is not so bad here at the time, used to be very cold at this time of the year, but for some reason it’s almost hot, strange but good for riders.

      Wish you a fantastic weekend. Stay good.

      It’s really difficult to diagnose a fault like this without being there in person, it’s not mechanical so my hunch is it’s going to earth somewhere, it will be a process of elimination remove the headlight easy to do & very carefully check all the wiring coming into the headlight shell & where the wiring loom passes the head stock look for any damage no matter how small & unplug all the connectors 1 at a time spray with contact cleaner & reconnect try that 1st.

      Can you do what Simon says?

      My BIG BIG suspicion is that you will need to replace

      – Stator (not made anymore) so get upgrade kit (we are the only shop for it)

      – clutch switch (please) (yes replace it but do NOT bypass it!)

      – go to your Kickstand. Cut the switch. And bypass it.   (Join wires) and waterproof it.  We have “bypassed” kickstand switch.

      This kick stand switch is very annoying for 99% of hyo riders 😡😠😤

      We do not ever sell it. It belongs in the bin lol.   Go bypass that switch.

      – new regulator.  Upgrade it. Do NOT buy Chinese ones. They go on fire!

      New stator means new regulator. Do not mix old and new stators / regulators because you will have problems again.    Your old stator could be dying because old regulator is killing it. So need to replace both of them

      – Battery.  Yes.  Replace it again. With new stator kit and new regulator.  Only use YUASA YTX 14BS (GENUINE) from garage.  Online batteries can be old-new stock or fake yuasa. Becareful shopping.  Do NOT buy uncommon brands.    I trust these brands YUASA , VARTA (German) , UNIBATT (used on MotoGP bikes)

      Questions for you in regards to electrics:

      – Did you test coils? Are they changed?

      (Coils are common fault if spark plug can is bad causing shorting / damaged sparks out of HT wire then coil is damaged)

      – do you still have OEM caps?

      (If yes, replace them with NGK caps)

      (Rubber NGK caps only as plastic ones will crack like the OEM ones)

      – What spark plugs do you have? (CR8E? Or did they change your plugs to different ones?)

      – Can we see the plugs(?) (Checking fuel mixture on the plugs , heat damage on threads , etc so pictures will help)

      Again… Do what Simon said before following me.

      It could just be simple things they overlooked like rusty contacts need cleaning and love
